I studied alone with Loomis and co, and boy I did work hard but
I was stuck and quite depressed by that fact.

notice any improvement? I do! I also see what I can improve, what I did right what

I did wrong. I know because a drawing master called Vilppu TOLD me what to work on and how! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR: DON'T WASTE TIME LIKE I DID IF ART
MATTERS TO YOU: Vilppu's online academy new session start january the 6th, they still

have a few "virtual seats" left – all online – they have payment plans, don't hide behind
excuses! don't me like I was for so long.

I don't get paid to say this (don't I wish :-D), I just despair when I see people here being unnecessarily stuck in their artistic development like I was, I know the pain it causes, I also know the solution.

I requote below a bit of text I wrote here two months ago, at the time I was feeling to unsure of myself to post any sample of my work, now I feel ok with that, even though I know there is a lot to improve of course.

Get moving, no excuse, art first, you deserve these online classes with the best!!!

sorry for sounding fangirl like – I'm more like a "little grasshopper" on its way than anything else now
    :-D

The new session start on the 6th of January. Ten weeks classes (6 for fundamentals) payment plans, all that – you get videos lessons and assignment and you get a one hour video chat a week with Vilppu – invaluable, you can ask any question you have, he'll do a screen share and draw live to make his point if needed BUT THE GAME CHANGER IS: each week you get your assignment reviewed by Vilppu with draw over in video! This has changed the way I draw, cause instead of trying to guess on my own what I do wrong or what I could improve I get a direct to the point feedback and advise from a guy with half a century of teaching under his belt. "you get this wrong, this right, work on this, like that". Just do it, as they say.

I can't emphasise this enough: you draw, he looks at your work, tells you exactly what to work on – you work on it, you get better! and that each week. I can't advise you enough to join those classes.

If you have any questions, fire away, I'll try to answer.

I'm finally making progress and I'm elated (you probably can tell by my tone of voice :-D).

Vilppu also does a european sketching tour http://www.artistravel.com/tours/tra.…, ten days with him all day, could be a solution for people who don't have time to do assignments etc outside of vacations.

OK, I stop my jumping up and down while shouting "it works, I'm getting better!" number, else you are going to think I'm crazy – and I AM crazy, else I would not be an artist :-D.

Best wishes to all, draw like crazy, and get feedback from a master, that's the key!

    I think you improved immensely!

    Many thanks :-D
I'm currently in week 3 of figure drawing 2, and it's taking me out of my comfort zone and I think I've already improved since week one, I'll post something here when I get to week ten – the last week.

Vilppu is amazing, in one critic he spent 20 minutes of video on my drawing, redrawing over it, debunking (is that the right word in english?) my 3 main problem and giving me the solutions to them. I'm going into hero worship mode like the rest of the class :-D

    cheers!!
